Officers of the Second District responded to a call for service of a
possible auto burglary in progress in the Audubon Park and Nashville
area. According to the witness the suspect was a white male who was
smashing vehicle windows and removing property. Unfortunately, the
suspect had fled the scene prior to the officers' arrival.
Second District Detectives Gore and McCaskill were assigned to the
incident for follow-up. Based on information learned through their
investigation the detectives developed a suspect, one Calvin Dell,
white male, age 26. Armed with his information the detectives were
able to secure an arrest warrant for Mr. Dell and a search warrant for
his residence.
The search warrant was then successfully executed netting additional
information adding in the investigation and apprehension of Mr. Dell.
ARRESTED: Calvin Dell, white male, age 26
Did you know that officers from the Second police District have
investigated approximately "120" auto burglarized over the past three
(3) months. In over 80 of those incidents vehicles were not secured,
allowing perpetrators access to guns, cash and laptop computers. For
your protection you should always secure your property in the trunk of
your vehicle and lock all doors.
Remember to report any suspicious persons or activities you see in
your neighborhood by calling 821-2222. In an emergency, call 911
immediately.
