Members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Section are investigating an automobile accident that left 43-year-old Tommie Felix, a 17 year veteran of the New Orleans Police Department dead.  The accident occurred at approximately 2:05 A.M., on the Judge Seeber Bridge and the Industrial Canal.

During the course of the on-investigating, detectives received information that the bridge control arm was not in the down position.  Detectives and D.O.T.D will conduct an investigation to determine the causes of the incident.

Detective Felix is survived by his wife and five children. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
