Demolition Request - 4600 Magazine

The owner of the building at 4601 Magazine has requested demolition, claiming the building is structurally unsound. The decision has been postponed to Jan. 28 at 10am. Councilwoman Head is opposed to the demolition, but the developer seems to think that he can steamroll her on his way to this demolition permit. Strong community support will be necessary if we are going to force some reasonable concessions from this politically connected developer. Please take the time to write a comment about the demolition. I'll print them and deliver them to the HCDRC meeting.

Projects decision.

I'm guessing that there will be some angry former public housing residents out tonight. Going to be a violent weekend. Be very careful when you are on the street.

Something NOW!

Last night we had a very well attended meeting at Fuel coffee house. BIA is working on registering us with Neighborhood Watch and organizing a formal web site, but some of the folks want to see some type of action immediately if not sooner.

So here is it. We should have some surveilance video screen caps of some of our neighbors and of some of the people that hang out on our corners real soon.

Guidelines:
-Do not libel or slander. A simple statement that "this person is not from the 'hood, and hangs out at Valence and Chestnut" is sufficient.
-Keep talking. Our communication last night is a great step. Hopefully this blog will facilitate more and better interaction between neighbors.
